What is Medical Exercise?

What is Medical Exercise? Medical Exercise (ME) is the safe and effective use of exercise to manage  not only  the typical client looking to improve their health and fitness level; but also clients with a wide range of medical conditions. These atypical clients need a fitness program tailored to their particular medical condition.

Is Medical Exercise the same as Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy? No. Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist are licensed medical professionals that are trained to use modalities, exercise, and various other techniques to manage acute medical conditions. Medical Exercise (ME) is the safe and effective use of exercise to manage non acute conditions. ME can be helpful after discharge from your rehab program or to augment the exercise program that you are currently taking part in while doing PT or OT.

Who offers Medical Exercise? Medical Exercise (ME) is offered by certified professionals trained to manage clients looking to improve their health and fitness level; but also clients with a wide range of medical conditions.

Is Medical Exercise Personal Training? Although Medical Exercise (ME) is similar to personal training, it differs in that the certified professionals are trained to manage medical conditions. Whereas, a personal trainer may not be. We recommend that you ask how much experience your trainer has had with your specific medical condition.
